A thorough physical examination is a critical part of your pet’s health care. Exams give us the opportunity to monitor your pet’s physical condition, enable us to prevent diseases, and allow us to detect diseases or other health problems in the early stages.
Exam time also give us an opportunity to answer any questions or concerns you may have as a “pet parent”. During your pet’s routine physical exam, we will listen to your pet’s heart and lungs, check for lumps, evaluate his/her eyes and ears, examine the teeth for dental disease,
check your pet’s joints for swelling or stiffness, and feel his/her abdomen for any pain or enlarged organs.
We recommend yearly exams for mature pets and semi-annual physicals for senior
pets. Puppies and kittens receive monthly examinations during their first few months
of life because they grow and change so rapidly. Don’t forget; pets age much faster than people do.
