Manor Animal Hospital Visitation Policy
At Manor Animal Hospital we encourage clients to visit their hospitalized pets. Our
hospital nurses do their best to provide loving care to their patients. But when you are sick, there is nothing better than seeing your favorite human friend.
There are just a few limitations to our visitation policy. For your safety, you can not accompany your pet into radiology or surgery. However, you are welcome to greet your pet as he/she is waking from sedation or surgery.
Our visiting hours for hospitalized patients are from 8:30 AM until 5:30 PM Monday through Friday and from 8:30 AM to 11:30 on Saturdays. To visit your pet at other times over the weekend, special arrangements can be made with the nurse on duty.
When visiting hospitalized pets, we ask that visitors be limited to 2-3 people at a time. Please check in at the front desk each time that you enter. Also, please do not expect to always be able to meet with your pet’s veterinarian each time you visit. They will try to keep you updated by phone but may not be able to take time away from their scheduled appointments and surgeries to meet with you at the time that you visit. The nurse on duty can keep you informed about any recent changes in your pet’s condition.
Please listen to and follow the directions of our highly trained and experienced staff. Their job is to provide gentle, skilled care to your pet while keeping you safe and avoiding injury to themselves. You can be present when treatments are done, but our staff must be the ones to actually hold your pet. Pets often react differently to family members in a medical setting, so for safety’s sake, our staff may instruct you to step away.
On occasion we may need to interrupt your visit to provide care to another pet.
Another important rule for visiting your pet is: Do not reach out your hand towards or touch any other patient. Pets often give no warning before they bite, so please do not try to pet or touch any pet but your own.
We greatly appreciate your partnering with us to provide the best and most loving care we can. We are committed to doing everything we can to make your friend’s time away from home as comfortable as possible.
